🐶 Penrith Panthers vs Canterbury Bulldogs
Tip: Bulldogs
Yes, the Panthers welcome back their Origin stars - but I’m backing the table-topping Bulldogs, and here’s why: they’ve been dominant for almost the entirety of the 2025 season. Penrith are rising, but the Dogs have set the pace all year and are rightful favorites. Expect them to stand up in a genuine test of premiership credentials.
🦅 Sea Eagles vs Wests Tigers
Tip: Sea Eagles
The Sea Eagles are always dangerous at Brookvale and have too much class across the park. The Tigers are gritty but remain outgunned in key positions. After some honest internal conversations mid-week with senior players, expect Manly to come out with purpose. This is a must-win game, and with their edge attack and leadership firing, they should get the job done.
🛡️ Newcastle Knights vs Canberra Raiders
Tip: Raiders
Canberra are flying under the radar and come into this one with momentum and forward dominance. Newcastle have been up and down, and things get even tougher without young gun Fletcher Sharpe in the mix. The Knights will be heavily reliant on Kalyn Ponga to create everything, and that’s a dangerous one-man-band approach against a structured Raiders pack. Expect Canberra’s middle to lay the platform and get the job done late.
⚡ Brisbane Broncos vs NZ Warriors
Tip: Warriors
This is the value play of the week. The Warriors are peaking at the right time, have travelled well all season, and are coming off the back of a shock loss they’ll be eager to atone for. The Broncos, while still dangerous, remain inconsistent and particularly vulnerable against well-drilled, physical sides. Take the Warriors in the upset - they’re primed to bounce back.
🔴 St George Illawarra Dragons vs Parramatta Eels
Tip: Dragons
The Dragons have ground out tough wins this year, but have been in some poor form of late. This one could genuinely go either way - flip a coin, and I’ll lean toward the home side. Adding fuel to the fire, Zac Lomax is primed for another big outing that shapes up as a second revenge game against his former club. Expect a fiery clash, and while it might not be pretty, the Red V should edge it at home.
🐬 Dolphins vs South Sydney Rabbitohs
Tip: Dolphins
The Bunnies have lost all momentum, struggling with both injuries and cohesion. The Dolphins, meanwhile, will be eager to bounce back from last week’s shock loss to Newcastle. They've been the more consistent outfit all season and look the safer option here. That said, former Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett returns, and you can be sure he’ll have a few strategic tricks up his sleeve - and let’s not forget, you should never count out a side with Latrell Mitchell in it. Still, at Suncorp Stadium, the Phins should be too composed and well-drilled.
🌩️ Melbourne Storm vs Cronulla Sharks
Tip: Storm
Melbourne at AAMI Park is always a fortress. The Sharks have been solid and tend to put up a fight against the Storm, but 2025 feels different. With Melbourne’s discipline, structure, and elite kicking game, they should control this one from the outset. The Sharks’ inconsistency remains a concern, and the Storm’s class across the park should prove too much in this one.
🐮 Gold Coast Titans vs North QLD Cowboys
Tip: Cowboys
The Cowboys have been as up and down as it gets in 2025, and are coming off the back of a thumping loss to the Roosters. But… it’s the Titans. Gold Coast continues to leak far too many points, and North Queensland should win the middle third and create plenty of opportunities. The Titans couldn’t beat an egg right now, home or away, and this shapes up as another disappointing showing in front of their home fans. Cowboys to bounce back.
